National Digital library of India
The National Digital library of India is a project under Ministry
of Human Resource Development, India. The objective is to collect and
collate metadata and provide full text index from several national and
international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources.
NDLI has been developed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. It is single window platform that collects resources from premier learning institutions in India and abroad and other relevant sources. It is open to all at free of cost.Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find out the right resource with least effort and in minimum time.

Scope and Content
The platform offers educational materials catering to users at all levels, from primary school to postgraduate studies. These resources include books, articles, theses, manuscripts, audio lectures, and video lectures. The subject areas covered are broad and include computer science, information technology, general works, philosophy, psychology, religion, and social sciences. The e-content is available through a unified access point, offering resources from various platforms:
- NPTEL: Over 10,000 video lectures
- NCERT: Books in Hindi and English for primary to 12th grade
- INFLIBNET: More than 38,000 theses by Indian researchers
- Digital Library of India (DLI): Over 500,000 global classical books
- LibriVox: Over 200,000 audio books, and more
How to Access and Use Information
1. Obtain Login Credentials:
- Register as an individual on the NDL website: https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/ or through the NDL Android App available on the Google Play Store.
2. Search for Resources:
- Use the search function to look for materials by subject keyword, author, language, etc.
3. Download Full Texts:
- You can download full-text resources 24/7 from anywhere at your convenience. The service is accessible round-the-clock, providing continuous access to valuable learning materials.

Central Library – Library Internship Opportunities
The Nirmala College Central Library invites applications from fresh graduates and postgraduates in
Library and Information Science for temporary Library Intern positions.
Candidates with strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a
keen interest in learning and applying emerging tools and technologies, will be
given preference.
Types of Internship Opportunities
A.
Internship for Academic Curriculum Requirements
- Number of Positions: 3
- Eligibility: MLIS students
- Duration: One to Three months
- Application Process: Interested candidates must
submit their application through the Head of the Department (HoD) of the
Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS) of their respective
university/institution, addressed to the Principal.
- Stipend: Not applicable (Unpaid
internship)
- Working Days: Monday to Saturday
- Certification: A certificate will be issued
only to those who complete the requested period
B.
One-Year Full-Time Internship (with Stipend)
- Number of Positions: 2
- Eligibility: Candidates must have
completed BLISc/MLISc or an equivalent degree either in the current year or the
previous year. Those awaiting their final BLISc/MLISc results may also apply,
provided they receive the mark sheet before the date of the interview.
- Duration: Up to one year, purely on a
temporary basis. Continuation beyond six months will depend on
satisfactory performance.
- Application Process: Interested candidates must
