Muvattupuzha: Mr. Joy Alukkas inaugurated HR Conference conducted at  Nirmala college, Muvattupuzha  by the Department of Management Studies in collaboration with National Institute of Personal Management. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mar George Madathikandathil, Bishop Emeritus, Kothamangalam diocese. Mr. Mathew Joseph, MD Fresh to home, Ms. Parveen Hafees, MD Sunrise Group hospitals, Mr. Johnson Mathew, Chairman National Institute of Personal Management, Dr. KV Thomas, Principal, Mr. EJ Emmanuel, vice principal,  Dr. Justin, Bursar, Mr. Saji Joseph, Ms. Dinna George were also participated in the function and spoke to the audience.


















 

A panel discussion addressing the current economic situation of the state of Kerala

A panel discussion addressing the current economic situation of the state of Kerala was held at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha. Organized by the Department of Economics, the discussion shed light on various facets of Kerala's economic landscape.

Dr. Mary George emphasized the impact of the government's unsystematic  planning and strategies, citing a shortfall of 21000
crores in tax collection compared to previous years. Dr. M K Sukumaran stressed the necessity for increased economic support from the central government to alleviate the state's economic woes.

Moderated  by Dr. K Rajesh, the discussion saw active participation from Dr. Tojo Jose, Rev. Fr. Abraham Mullattil, and Dr. R Meera. The event was orchestrated under the leadership of Ms. Alphonsa and Ms. Mittumol, providing a platform for insightful discourse on Kerala's economic challenges and potential pathways forward.

Social Outreach Program : Youngsters Clean Pond To Save The Water Resources

In Muvattupuzha, the students of the Economics Department at Nirmala College undertook a commendable initiative to clean Thottakara Chira, a vital freshwater source for the residents of Chelapuzha and Thottakara villages. The students diligently cleared the pond of accumulated waste, restoring its usability for the local community. Recognized as a significant groundwater reservoir in the area, the pond's rejuvenation holds immense value for the villagers.

The collaboration extended to Arakuzha Grama Panchayath, enhancing the effectiveness of the cleanup efforts. Dr. KV Thomas, the Principal, inaugurated this laudable endeavor on behalf of the Economics Department. Joining forces with the students were Ms. Sheeja Aji, a member of Arakuzha Panchayat, Dr. Meera, the Head of the Department, Prof. Shaimon, and Prof. Alphonsa, all actively participating in the forefront of the initiative.

Namitham Art festival at Nirmala College Muvattupuzha

In memory of Namitha, an arts festival titled "Namitham 2024 " was held at Nirmala College Muvattupuzha. The festival was established to honor a student named Namitha who tragically passed away in an  accident. Asif Ali, the College Chairman, presided over the event, while the inauguration was conducted by the esteemed film star Diana Hameed. College Principal Prof.K V Thomas emphasized to the other students the importance of emulating Namitha's academic excellence and her passion for art.
