In Muvattupuzha, the students of the Economics Department at Nirmala College undertook a commendable initiative to clean Thottakara Chira, a vital freshwater source for the residents of Chelapuzha and Thottakara villages. The students diligently cleared the pond of accumulated waste, restoring its usability for the local community. Recognized as a significant groundwater reservoir in the area, the pond's rejuvenation holds immense value for the villagers.
The collaboration extended to Arakuzha Grama Panchayath, enhancing the effectiveness of the cleanup efforts. Dr. KV Thomas, the Principal, inaugurated this laudable endeavor on behalf of the Economics Department. Joining forces with the students were Ms. Sheeja Aji, a member of Arakuzha Panchayat, Dr. Meera, the Head of the Department, Prof. Shaimon, and Prof. Alphonsa, all actively participating in the forefront of the initiative.
