On 29-June 2024, the students and faculty of Tyros School, Muvattupuzha, embarked on an exciting journey to the college library as part of their educational outreach program. The children were bursting with enthusiasm as they explored the vast collection of books and resources, discovering new titles and authors that sparked their imagination. The faculty and library staff were on hand to provide guidance and support, helping the students navigate the shelves and find books that matched their interests.
The visit was expertly coordinated by Librarian Mr. Jomy Jose, Fr. Jobin, and Ms. Agie George, who shared a common goal of fostering reading awareness among the students. They understood the importance of libraries as vibrant centers of knowledge and learning, crucial for academic growth and personal development. Libraries offer not just books but also digital resources, periodicals, and quiet spaces conducive to studying and reflection.
Through this initiative, the team aimed to instill a love for reading and learning in the young minds, recognizing the significant role of literacy in shaping their future. They emphasized how libraries serve as gateways to information, enabling students to explore diverse perspectives and cultivate critical thinking skills. The event was a resounding success, with students leaving the library with big smiles and a newfound appreciation for the magic of books and the vital role libraries play in their education and beyond.
